Best Free Backyard Chicken Coop Plans
If you are more of a do-it-yourself type of person, this is a great coop for you.
We built this backyard chicken coop back in 2013 and it is still being used today.
We wanted to build a coop that was simple, easy, and straightforward.
We used the following instructions to build it.

Here it is right after it was finished.
After this, we painted it red, put roofing material on it, and moved it.
We surrounded the coop with the best poultry netting we could buy to keep our chickens contained and predators out.
And we could move the poultry netting around the coop in different areas to graze our chickens in different spots.
In the picture above, we put the chickens on our future wood chip vegetable garden area so they could fertilize it for us before we made a garden out of it.

Chicken tractors are more commonly used when raising pastured broilers but the idea could be adapted for layers as well.
