I am a farmer. And there are certain things that I use on my farm that would be much harder to live without. These tools can turn a tough day into a much easier or even more enjoyable day.

Because of this, I have put together this list for you. If you are looking for gifts for a farmer then I highly recommend any of the items in this gift list.

1. Super Bright Headlamp

Having a really bright headlamp has been one of the best investments on my farm. I can do things much easier in the evening or at night than I could before.

This includes things like tackling the evening chores, checking on animals at night, or repairing farm equipment in the dark.

This headlamp comes with 8 LED bulbs and has an output of about 18,000 lumens. If that means nothing to you then just trust me when I say it is very bright.

It also has rechargeable batteries so you don’t have to constantly change them out.

This bright headlamp will feel like you have turned night time into day which will make farm chores much easier at night.

2. Kershaw Pocket Knife

Having a really good pocket knife makes life much easier on the farm. You don’t know how handy it is to have one until you start carrying one around with you every day.

Kershaw is an awesome brand and makes a really great knife. I personally own this pocket knife and carry it around with me every day. They come with a lifetime warranty and will fix it for free if something breaks.

I recently took advantage of this warranty when the clip broke on my knife. I filled out a form on their website and they sent me a clip along with 2 new screws to install it. I didn’t even have to send it in.

This is why a Kershaw knife is a great farm knife.

3. Fiskars Loppers

Having a good pair of loppers is a great addition to any farm tool shed. And Fiskars makes the best loppers out there in my opinion.

I personally own Fiskars loppers and love them. They slice through branches like a hot knife cutting through butter. I personally use them for things like clearing fence rows or just trimming branches off of trees.

Not only are Fiskars loppers tough, they also have a lifetime warranty. That is rare for hand tools.

These Fiskars loppers are great for everyone including farmers.

4. DEWALT Electric Screwdriver

I am constantly building and repairing things on my farm. And since a lot of these things I build and repair require screws, having a good, reliable electric screwdriver is a must.

This DEWALT screwdriver is my personal favorite. It’s not only strong but the battery seems to last forever.

It’s not too large and feels like it is just the right size. It also has a light on the front making it much easier to see what you are doing.

This DEWALT Screwdriver is a great tool to have on any farm.

5. Muck Boots

I used to buy cheap rubber boots that I would slip on while doing chores on the farm. But after being frustrated with them getting holes and being cold in the winter, I finally decided to invest in Muck Boots.

Since buying my first pair, I haven’t looked back. They are warm in the winter, completely water proof, and fit snug around your legs to help keep stuff out of them.

I actually love mine so much I find myself even wearing them in the summer, especially when it’s muddy outside.

Muck Boots are a farmer’s best friend.

6. Mechanix Gloves

Farmers work a lot with their hands. Because of this, having a good pair of gloves can be a game changer.

After going through several other types of gloves, I finally landed on these Mechanix gloves which are now my favorite.

Not only are they tough but they fit my hands really well.

They also keep my hands warm in the winter while I working on various winter projects. However, because of the Trek Dry material they are made of, my hands don’t get hot in the summer like they do with other gloves.

This makes them the perfect all year round gloves.

Overall, these Mechanix gloves are a great pair of gloves to use on the farm.

7. Carhartt Insulated Bib Overalls

Where I live, winters are muddy, wet, and cold. So having a nice pair of insulated bib overalls to slip on over your jeans can turn a miserable day into a much better day.

I personally own these Carhartt Insulated Bib Overalls and am really glad I do.

I am not a fan of cold weather and while wearing these I hardly notice how cold it really is.

I’ve owned mine for years and they are still holding up strong. They material is tough and they are hard to tear.

These overalls are great for farmers that have to deal with cold winters.

8. Carhartt Flannel Lined Duck Jacket

I’m much more motivated to get stuff done on the farm when I don’t have to worry about being cold. So having a warm winter coat can be a game changer.

I personally own a Carhartt coat and it is by farm the warmest coat I’ve ever owned. When I combine my coat with my bib overalls and my muck boots, it no longer feels like winter.

I’ve owned my Carhartt coat for many years and have never had a problem with it. The material is tough and has never ripped in spite of all the work I do in mine.

One of the things I love about my Carhartt gear are the zippers. They are tough and feel like they could never break.

You can’t go wrong with a Carhartt coat, especially if you are a farmer.

9. Stay Cool Kit

All of this talk about winter has me thankful for summer. However, summer brings heat and on those hot, mid-summer days, you need a way to stay cool.

When I’m mowing, bush hogging, putting up fence, working in the garden, or doing any other type of work in the sun, I want a way to stay cool. And these three items can help with that.

A wide brim hat can be a big help when keeping the sun off your head or out of your eyes.

The headband may look ridiculous but keeping the sweat out of your eyes can make the heat more bearable.

And having a shirt that helps wick sweat away from your body will make all the difference in the world.

I have dubbed these three items the Stay Cool Kit and they have made my life much more enjoyable on the farm.

10. YETI Travel Mug

YETI is popular for a reason. I personally own a YETI travel mug and it is awesome at keeping my coffee either hot for many hours.

I use my YETI almost daily and I can imagine that any other farmer would probably do the same.

11. 3M WorkTunes Hearing Protection + Headphones

On my farm there are several chores that are, unfortunately, very loud which include things like bush hogging with an open cab tractor, mowing the lawn, weedeating, running a tiller, and chainsawing.

While doing these things, I typically wear ear protection. But at the same time, I love listening to music and podcasts.

This is where the 3M WorkTunes come in. These headphones not only offer ear protection, they also give you a way to listen to audio from your phone or AM/FM radio.

These things can make any loud chore much more enjoyable. And for the farmers out there, you probably know exactly what I mean.

12. DEWALT 20V MAX Portable Bluetooth Radio & Battery Charger

Not all work on the farm is done outdoors. There are a lot of projects that will take place in the barn, shop, or garage. When this is the case, it’s nice to have something to listen to.

The DEWALT portable Bluetooth radio and battery charger is a great choice for this. It has a built-in radio tuner if you just want to listen to the radio or you can connect your phone to it over Bluetooth and listen that way.

What I really like about this device is that you can also use to to charge your phone or even DEWALT batteries for your other DEWALT power tools.

With all of these features, this is a great gift for a farmer.

13. Ohuhu Hammock With Stand

Farmers are some of the hardest working people in the world but even farmers need an occasional rest. And a hammock can be one of the best ways to do that.

This best thing about this hammock is that it has it’s own stand so you don’t even have to find two trees that are close enough to tie it up. If you want to do that though, the stand can be removed.

It also supports up to two people so it can be shared with a spouse or friend.

Give your farmer friend a way to rest out in nature by getting them a hammock.

14. Mother Earth News Subscription

Don’t let the name fool you. This is hands down one of my favorite small scale farming magazines.

Whether a farmer is into raising livestock on a small scale or gardening, this magazine covers it all.

My favorite thing about it is that they always seem to cover interesting things that I’ve never thought about before. And for the price, you can’t beat all the knowledge you’ll gain from it.

15. Husqvarna Rancher Chainsaw

A good chainsaw can make all the difference in the world on a farm. This is especially true if you have woods that need cleaning up, trees that need to come down, or if you need to cut firewood for your wood burning stove.

And if you are looking for a good chainsaw, this Husqvarna Rancher is one of the best.

So long are the days when it is a battle to get a chainsaw started. This thing will start right up and cut through logs with ease.

Husqvarna makes some of the most reliable equipment and this chainsaw is no different.

This is not a cheap gift but I can’t imagine any farmer being said about receiving one of these.

This Husqvarna Rancher Chainsaw will make any farmer happy.
