Introduction

"Portable

I raise pigs and rotationally graze them around my property through various fields and paddocks. With that being the case, having portable waterers for my pigs is a must. I primarily use 275 gallon totes for this purpose.

My favorite thing about 275 gallon totes is how portable they are. If you have a tractor with forks, it’s real easy to just to pull up to it, lift it up, take it some place else, and set it down where you need it. When they’re empty, it’s also pretty easy for two people to move one as well.

Another great thing about them is that they hold 275 gallons of water. That’s a lot of water and it lasts my pigs quite a while.

Also, on the top, they typically have a pretty large opening which makes it easy to fill them up or use a pressure washer to clean them out.

With that being said, today what I want to show you how to take one of these and turn it into a pig waterer for your pigs.

Parts You Will Need

275 Gallon IBC Tote

"275

The first thing you need is a 275 Gallon IBC Tote. I have found the best place to find these is either on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. Some of these have had toxic liquids transported in them so make sure you get one that previously had food grade liquids in it or is brand new.
